 I loved seeing the snowy owl!  So cool!!

Lion

 I was glad we waited for the lions to be out, but we almost didn't because was not at all close to the 10 minutes we were told.  I can't remember exactly but I think we waited 20-30 minutes.  I was definitely struggling to be patient.  I gotta say, I was laughing when I saw this lion come waltzing out.  I think that is the fattest lion I've ever seen.  😂

Mountain Bongo

When we got to the lion enclosure, we were told they weren't out yet but would be in about 10 minutes.  We decided to wait since it wasn't supposed to be a long wait.  In the meantime, I kept my eye on these Mountain Bongos and the Southern Ground Hornbill that were nearby.  The hornbill seemed to be on a mission with that clump of dirt he had.  Haha!

Monkeys

 I really loved watching all the monkeys!  These little black ones are just so fluffy and cute!!

Pygmy Hippo

 Joe and I were able to squeeze in a fairly spontaneous trip to Grand Rapids to celebrate our anniversary.  I am SO glad we made it work!  We had a lovely time and it was nice to get away after how stressful everything had been.  We decided to visit the zoo in Grand Rapids which was so fun!  So these upcoming posts will all be pictures from the Grand Rapids zoo.  The first animals we saw after arriving were the cute little pygmy hippos!
