Birds

This new blogger is starting to make a bit more sense.  Still a bit wonky, but we'll get there.  Haha!  I'm not sure what this first bird is.  I honestly have always walked past this enclosure.  It's set off a bit from the main path.  There's often lots of kids in the area because of a car they can play on.  But on this day, I was completely by myself, so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to take a peek over there.  This guy was peeking back at me.  😊  Also, I just want to point out that the penguins in the last picture kinda reflect my mood today.  Anyone else thinking the same thing?  😂

Big Cats

So blogger has been trying to push an update on me.  I'm finally agreeing to it.  Haha!  Still trying to figure it out.  Here's some big cats to take away the frustrations I'm feeling.  Hahaha!

Kangaroos with Joeys

I learned that there are 5 joeys!  3 of them are much older than the other two.  Needless to say, I'll be spending much more time with these kangaroos, in an effort to see some babies!  Today I saw some movement in the pouches, and I did see just the tiniest tale sticking out.  Hopefully as the weeks go on, I'll catch much more!  Stay tuned!

Sea Lions

I love seeing how much fun this group of ladies are having together!  The two new sea lions are getting along swimmingly with the other two.  😁

Canada Lynx

I was so grateful to the zoo keeper who not only noticed that I kept looking at the lynx enclosure, clearly anxious to see them out, but when she saw me in another area of the zoo, she took the time to tell me that she was almost ready to release them in their enclosure for a feeding.  This is just another example of how awesome the staff is at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo!  I really appreciate them so much!

Random

I'm already at the point that I'd rather get these pictures posted than worry about categorizing them well or having well written thoughts to accompany the pictures.  So here are random pictures.  Enjoy!

Monkeys and Mongooses

I missed going to the zoo last week, so I actually got caught up on all the pictures I have taken so far and ran out of anything to post for a few days.  I'm sure it won't last long and I'll get behind again, but I will try not to.  Going to the zoo again yesterday really reminded me why I make it a priority to go every week.  I'm just in love with our zoo!  I love the fresh air, the exercise, the opportunity to practice taking pictures and to try new things without pressure, the opportunity to practice editing pictures and to try new techniques with that, and most importantly, watching these stunning creatures.  I'm pretty shy and introverted, but when I'm at the zoo, I often find myself talking to strangers and it doesn't bother me, especially if we are talking about the animals!  In other words, going to the zoo is not just good for my physical health, but also my mental and emotional health.  It refuels and refreshes my soul in a way that few other things can.  😊

Black and White

Sometimes when I'm editing, I'll just get this curiosity that I want to know what a picture would look like if it were black and white.  Unfortunately, all too often, I feel busy and rushed and I don't take the time to change things up.  I am SO glad that I took the time when editing this batch of zoo pictures.  I LOVE the way these pictures pop in black and white.  When color is taken away, it becomes much easier to focus on the textures in the photographs.  I'm so in love with these!!  😍
