Baby Giraffe, Zebra, and Leopard

 I've been so behind on getting pictures edited and posted, but I'm finally getting the last couple of trips to the zoo done now.  I had been hoping to see the new baby giraffe before the zoo closed for the season as I know they don't stay little.  I was so glad I finally saw her!  I also loved seeing the zebra drinking from the pond.  I'm not sure I've ever witnessed that before.

I caught one of the Servals having a nice time rolling around in the straw.  It was ridiculously cute!  I mean, I see my house cats doing this, but to see a big cat acting the same way was so interesting and funny to me!

These are the last of the pictures I have of Sanji from when I saw him a couple weeks ago.  I absolutely loved every minute of watching him.  He's a stunner!  I can't wait to see him again!

Clouded Leopard Part 3

JUST LOOK AT THIS PRETTY BOI!!!  I'm so obsessed!  😍  The way he was rubbing all over trees made me think he could smell Raury.  I haven't seen them together since right after the zoo got Sanji.  I have a theory that they take turns being in the enclosure as they may not be allowed to breed them right now.  I do have it on good authority that they did already have babies together shortly after the zoo got Sanji.  Unfortunately the babies were never allowed to be outside in the enclosures and I believe they were all sent out to other zoos.  I'm hopeful that they will keep breeding them and that someday I'll get to see one of the babies.

Clouded leopards are some of the most beautiful creatures!  I loved watching and photographing Sanji as he posed for me.  Isn't he stunning??!  And seriously, did you see how big those murder mittens are??  😅😍

Clouded Leopard Part 1

 Y'all, the clouded leopards are my favorite animal at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo.  Unfortunately, I rarely see them.  And often when I do, they are sleeping high up in a back corner where you can barely see them.  But a couple of weeks ago when I went, I decided to head straight for their area.  It was a cool morning so I was hopeful the animals would be more active.  I couldn't believe that when I walked up, the clouded leopard was just coming out from inside and went straight for this tree.  I got quite the show and immediately started taking pictures.  Shortly after, some Zoo workers approached.  They saw me taking pictures and hung back behind me.  I asked if this one was Sanji or Raury.  They looked very confused and explained that they were just there to clean the windows and had no idea about the animals.  They happily waited for a while so I could take as many pictures as I wanted without them getting in my way.  It was SO neat!  And for the record, I'm quite sure that this is Sanji.  Can you believe the size of those murder mittens?!?!  I still wish I could pet him though.  😅😂
