Penguins

Any penguin lovers here??!!  I really like watching them in the water, although that is definitely harder to photograph than when they are on land.  Also, did any of you notice the last picture is definitely a duck, not a penguin??  Hahaha!  

Random

This really is a random group of pictures.  I thought they were still worth sharing even though these are all I was able to get from that trip to the zoo.

Otters in Water

These otters sure love to spend time in the water!  They are so much harder to photograph when they are swimming, but I did get some pictures.  I hope to get pictures of them in their deeper pool that they can dive into, but there is generally too much of a crowd gathered around watching that my view is blocked.  

Otters on Land

These otters are living the life!  They can be found sleeping the day away, playing together, or chasing after food.  No matter what they are doing, they are clearly enjoying it!  

Monkeys

This is an assortment of various kinds of monkeys.  I have been enjoying seeing the Capuchin monkeys in their newly remodeled enclosure.  They seem to enjoy it too!

I was fascinated to realize that Asmara was using this stick as a tool, though it was ultimately ineffective.  She was trying to use it like a crowbar to pry off the mesh from the window she was hanging onto.

Ring-Tailed Lemurs

I was SO happy that it was warm enough for the ring tailed lemurs to be out again!  I missed seeing them!  I really like watching them run around and play.

Otters

I really enjoy otters, and I especially love seeing how much these two are enjoying their new enclosure at the zoo!  When I walked up, they were initially napping in the corner, but a zookeeper saw me attempting to take pictures of them and offered to get their attention for me.  He walked around to be as close to them as possible and yelled their names.  They actually popped up and came to him!  😂  It was the cutest thing I've seen in a while!  I was quite thankful for the help!  Our zoo staff is so awesome!

Orangutan

It can be struggle for me to get pictures of this cutie, Asmara, because so often at this time of year, the windows are lined with kids on school field trips.  I was grateful to be able to actually have this area to myself for a little bit on this perfect day.  Asmara seemed to enjoy watching me take pictures of her, as much as I was enjoying watching her!  She came up to get a closer look at me.  😊

Lions

It was such a beautiful day and the lions seemed happy to bask in the sun.  Ina decided to get up and eat some grass.  😂
