Lion

Bahati is an obvious favorite for SO many people who visit the zoo.  He is quite stunning!  I was happy to catch him taking a stroll through his enclosure to find a better spot to go back to his napping.  Seriously though, isn't he gorgeous?!?

Hyena

I gotta say, I am always so excited whenever I see the Hyenas doing anything at all other than sleeping.  Since they are nocturnal and the zoo is only open during the day, usually I can expect to see them sleeping in the exact same spot every single time.  This guy decided to get up from his sleep for a bit of a stroll.  

Big Birds

If you couldn't tell, I am officially at the point where I have too many pictures to post and so I am grouping more and more together.  This is my big birds collection from this particular visit to the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo.

Random

I have another random collection of pictures for you.  When I spotted that tiny baby squirrel, my first thought was that it was just a chipmunk.  I realized that couldn't be right though, because it doesn't have any black stripes.

Penguins

Any penguin lovers here??!!  I really like watching them in the water, although that is definitely harder to photograph than when they are on land.  Also, did any of you notice the last picture is definitely a duck, not a penguin??  Hahaha!  

Random

This really is a random group of pictures.  I thought they were still worth sharing even though these are all I was able to get from that trip to the zoo.

Otters in Water

These otters sure love to spend time in the water!  They are so much harder to photograph when they are swimming, but I did get some pictures.  I hope to get pictures of them in their deeper pool that they can dive into, but there is generally too much of a crowd gathered around watching that my view is blocked.  

Otters on Land

These otters are living the life!  They can be found sleeping the day away, playing together, or chasing after food.  No matter what they are doing, they are clearly enjoying it!  

Monkeys

This is an assortment of various kinds of monkeys.  I have been enjoying seeing the Capuchin monkeys in their newly remodeled enclosure.  They seem to enjoy it too!

I was fascinated to realize that Asmara was using this stick as a tool, though it was ultimately ineffective.  She was trying to use it like a crowbar to pry off the mesh from the window she was hanging onto.

Ring-Tailed Lemurs

I was SO happy that it was warm enough for the ring tailed lemurs to be out again!  I missed seeing them!  I really like watching them run around and play.
