Sea Horses, Turtles, Ducks, and Monkeys

On the second day of my trip to Chicago with my husband and friends, we went to the Shedd Aquarium.  It was my first time there and I thoroughly enjoyed it!  I really love seahorses and am so happy whenever I can see some in person.  Unfortunately, they are often housed in cylindrical aquariums that are much harder to photograph than the typical rectangular ones.  I was able to get some pictures of them though.  😊

These are the rest of the pictures I took while at the Lincoln Park Zoo.  I really enjoyed seeing some animals that I rarely get to see in person!  😊

Dwarf Mongoose

I really enjoyed watching the interactions between all the dwarf mongooses.  They are so cute!  I have to admit, the reason I was nearby them for so long was because I was also watching a colony of naked mole rats that were living below the dwarf mongooses.  There was one naked mole rat in particular that caught my attention.  The poor little guy couldn't seem to make it up an incline in the colony and was essentially running in place.  It was sad and hilarious at the same time.  I took a video.  😂

Snow Monkeys

I REALLY love snow monkeys!  I think they are probably the cutest monkeys there are.  They are so fluffy!  😍  I spent a lot longer watching these guys than all the other animals we saw.

Chimps and Rhino

I enjoyed watching these chimps for a little bit.  It was hot and they were moving to the inside, so we didn't stay long to watch them.  We did watch the rhino for a bit as it wandered around and ate.  😊

Monkeys

My husband and a couple of our friends spent a weekend in Chicago.  We started the fun by going to the Lincoln Park Zoo.  It ended up being much hotter than the forecast said and many animals weren't out, so we didn't stay as long as we had initially planned.  We still had a lot of fun!  I am not sure what all of these different monkeys are, but I really enjoyed watching and photographing them!

Clouded Leopard

I'm obsessed with Raury, the clouded leopard at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo.  She seems to have a lot of spunk.  Every time I've seen her, she seems particularly interested in stalking young kids and will jump onto the side fence of her enclosure when the kids turn away to leave.  She's a beautiful animal that I am truly enthralled by.

I added this picture of a gibbon because I didn't have another post that I could include it in.  Starting tomorrow I will be posting pictures from a different zoo!  😊

Wolves and Foxes

These are the last of the pictures I took at Black Pine Animal Sanctuary.  I really love wolves which is one of the big reasons I love visiting Black Pine.  I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked, but I was happy to get these!  I also was happy I caught some pictures of the fox when it woke up.  😊
