African Animals

I have to be honest that I don't really remember anything from this particular zoo trip.  But because of the system I use for organizing my pictures, I know exactly when these were taken.  It was just weeks before they closed for the year.  I'm getting close to getting the rest of the pictures from last year posted and then the zoo will be open again very soon!

Black Swans

The zoo got a pair of black swans towards the end of last season.  They were hanging out with the kangaroos which I thought was pretty cool.

Indonesian Rain Forest

 The blue bird is such a joy to see when I'm there!  It's so pretty!

Pretty Leopard

 I needed practice with Nikon and I couldn't think of better subjects than what the zoo has to offer!  I swung by and quickly refamiliarized myself with the Nikon camera.  These pictures feel slightly sharper than what I normally get with my Canon gear.  But mine probably just needs a good cleaning and calibration.

Big Cats!

I couldn't believe how awesome the Amur Leopard was being while he posed for pictures!  I hadn't seen him sit on top of his log like that before.  I was so glad I was able to get lots of pictures.  As you can see, I had trouble picking favorites. 

Birds and More

My mom loves birds and I took these on our trip together to celebrate her birthday last year.  I'm excited for her to join me more than for just her birthday this year!
