Cheetah Encounter

We were not planning to watch this show as we didn't even know it existed, but due to getting a little lost, we found ourselves walking to the seats with only 15 minutes until the show was to start.  We made the quick decision to stay.  Since it was a bit early still, the seats were mostly empty and we got the perfect seats for me to take pictures from while also being in the shade.  Shortly before the show was to start, some people tried to get us to move over by sitting incredibly close to me (I didn't budge though) and ultimately split their group so some sat in the row in front since they didn't have the space they expected.  One guy was sitting just to the right of where my right knee was.  Unfortunately he was quite tall and I struggled to keep his head out of view of my camera at times.  But we still enjoyed the show.  It was definitely meant for kids, so I think in the future we'd skip it, but it was neat to see the animals so close.

Flamingos

In addition to going to the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo with Joe every summer, we also make a point to travel to another zoo.  We prefer to go to one we either have never been to before or haven't been to in a long time.  This year we choose to celebrate our anniversary by going to Cincinnati.  With how busy the summer has been and since our anniversary fell on a Sunday, we decided to plan our trip for the Monday to Tuesday before our anniversary.  The weather started out perfect but was fairly hot by the time we left.  We had a great time though!  I absolutely loved the zoo!  It's so nice and well thought out.  For the next couple of weeks, I'll be sharing some of my favorite pictures from that zoo trip.

Binturong, Bunny, and More!

Every summer I make sure I can fit in at least one zoo trip with Joe.  These are pictures from that trip together.  We didn't go to the African part but we did the rest.  I was excited to see the Binturong again!  We also saw a small bunny in the red panda enclosure.  It was just munching on grass until a red panda spotted it and chased it around.  Finally the bunny squeezed through the mesh and got out of the reach of the red panda.  I didn't take any pictures of that crazy moment because I was to enthralled and excited that Joe was with me to witness it to think about taking pictures.
