Random

These are in backwords order again.  Blogger doesn't seem to be consistent so I can't adjust accordingly.  I don't mind that much though.  Anyways, I thought these ducks looked really cute as they tried to get out of the sun for a nap.

Zebra and Sitatunga Baby

Some of the zebra were actually up close!  I haven't seen them this close in a long time, so I had to grab some pictures of them.  Also, I'm really enjoying watching the baby sitatunga grow up.  What a cutie!

Random

This group of pictures is probably the most random group I've ever had, even for all the other times I make a group of random pictures.  I think that is partly due to the fact that there are so many here.  I guess I'm officially getting to the point where I am trying to get as many pictures posted as quickly as I can because I'm slowly falling behind.  😁

Dingo

This good boy saw someone he recognized and went over as close as he could.  At first I didn't realize this Dingo spotted someone in particular until a young man came up behind me, walked around me, and started talking to the dingo.  It was a sweet moment to witness.  With the frequency in which I go to the zoo, I have actually witness moments like these fairly often.  I love seeing how much the workers and volunteers love the animals and will clearly create a bond with a particular animal.  Just a couple weeks ago, I got talking to a worker who I caught talking to one of the tigers while he was sweeping and cleaning the area.  He said she comes up as close as she can to him whenever she sees him.  Someday I hope to be able to work or volunteer at the zoo, but for now, I'll settle for the quick visits that I'm able to squeeze into my busy schedule.

Orangutans

It has been so special to me watching Asmara grow up.  To me, this is one of the joys of having a zoo membership and being able to go as often as I can.  I especially appreciate that this year, I didn't always just go in the morning, right when they open.  As much as I love the quiet of not many other people being around and learning when I can expect certain animals to be quite active, I've really enjoyed going much later in the day these last couple weeks and being able to witness things that don't happen in the mornings.  I also have mostly still been able to avoid the crowds as they are often done for the day by the time I've gotten there.  It really is neat to whenever I have new experiences at a place that I have been to so often.  In this case, I was able to witness this family of orangutans enjoying a late afternoon snack.  When I am there in the mornings, usually only Asmara is active and the rest are just sleeping, so this was a nice surprise.

Random

I thought it was really cute the way this Bat-eared Fox was sleeping with his little legs sticking straight out!   I am not sure if the Clouded Leopard is Raury or Sanji.  Either way, I can't wait to see them together!  I know if may not happen until next season, but I'm holding onto hope that I can witness some of their first interactions.  I found out that the Amur Leopard is not the same one from last year (which makes sense because I knew the plan was to only have that young male for one season).  This is an older male, living out his retirement here.

Kangaroos with Joeys

I was SO happy to see so many of the joeys!!!  I don't know who is in this first picture, but the other pictures are of Hazel, Molly, and I think Kalinda (or maybe it's Adlelaide).  Adlelaide and Newi also have joeys, but I believe those are the two that are much younger than the other three.
