I do love when I catch one of the hyenas up and about instead of already sleeping for the day. I'm not sure which one this was, but it is a bit concerning seeing the sores or scars on the face. I do believe that hyenas can be pretty violent with each other though. I believe that I had heard that the keepers were hoping for babies. I don't know if they actually have approval or not, but it would be pretty cool if we had pups soon!
I actually didn't take nearly as many pictures on this visit as I normally do, especially considering the fact that I was going through much slower than normal. But I was with my mom so that's why I was going slowly and why I was too distracted with talking with her to actually take pictures. We had such a good time though!
I don't always stop and take pictures of the birds, but I was with my mom to celebrate her birthday, and fun fact, my mom's nickname is 'Lanie Bird', so of course we were gonna be looking at all the birds. We also chatted with a worker in the rain forest dome who told us more about the birds in there.
I love when the Tigers are up and about. I often get them in time to see them already sleeping. So I was glad to catch them up getting a little snack. Haha! But seriously, I thought it was pretty cute seeing the big kitties eating grass just like my little house cats.
I got to see Raya with her mom, Tara today. She's getting a bit more independent as she's growing bigger and stronger. She's so precious!
I can't believe how cute and utterly crazy and destructive these little guys are! They are growing so fast and getting into the worst sort of trouble. I absolutely love watching them play and run around! They are adorable!
